The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs made The Waste Regulations on Nothern Ireland on 23 December 2019. These regulations made amendments to the primary and subordinate waste legislations in Nothern Ireland. These regulations will come into force on 16 January 2020. The Waste Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2019 makes minor and technical amendments to primary and subordinate legislation, to ensure that the requirements of the revised Waste Framework Directive have been met. Legislations that were amended are the following:- Waste and Contaminated Land (Nothern Ireland) Order 1997
- Waste and Emissions Trading Act 2003
- Waste Management Licensing Regulations (Nothern Ireland) 2003
- Hazardous Waste Regulations (Nothern Ireland) 2005
- Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations (Nothern Ireland) 2007
