This week the Packaging Waste (Data Reporting) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 were published, amending the Packaging Waste (Data Reporting) (England) Regulations 2023 that implemented new data reporting requirements relating to packaging material. The new 2024 Amendments clarify the responsibilities of brand owners; packers/fillers; importers; first UK owners; and distributors.
Additionally, the Amendments add a new definition for drink containers, which now qualify under the regulations. Similar amendments were published in Scotland earlier this month and the new changes take effect on 1 April 2024.
