UK: Guidance on Environment Agency fees and charges –

On 1st April 2019, the Environment Agency has published the updated guidance on revised fees and charges including information on how to pay. The amount a facility pays depends on the activity it is carried out and the regulations that are applicable to those operations. The Environment Agency consults with customers before making any changes to their charges. The Agency has been reviewing their charges over the last 2 years. It has consulted with customers between 3 December 2018 and 1 February 2019 on their most recent proposals. As a result of the review, charges for these regulatory regimes have either changed or been clarified:
  • Environmental Permitting (closed landfill, radioactive substance regulation and other changes)
  • Polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB)-containing equipment registration
