UK | COVID-19 | Weekly regulatory update

The UK is continuing the relaxation of coronavirus restrictions as following.
E (SI) 2020/558 – The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 2020 Relaxation of some restrictions, but continuous prohibition on staying overnight in a place other than where a person lives, without reasonable excuse. S (SI) 2020/164 – The Health Protection (Coronavirus) (Restrictions) (Scotland) Amendment (No. 3) Regulations 2020 Relaxation of restrictions include: it is a reasonable excuse to take part in outdoor recreation in certain circumstances or visit a recycling or waste disposal service. Garden centres and plant nurseries may also remain open. W (SI) 2020/557 – The Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (Wales) (Amendment) (No. 5) Regulations 2020 Amendments made as following:
  • provisions enabling a marriage or civil partnership where a party to the marriage or civil partnership is terminally ill;
  • a relaxation to the requirement to stay at home unless you have a reasonable excuse to enable people to be outside for any purpose within their local area;
  • a relaxation to the prohibition on gathering which allows persons from no more than two households to gather outdoors.
​​NI (SI) 2020/89 – The Statutory Sick Pay (General) (Coronavirus Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020 Added a category of persons entitled to statutory sick pay: a person who has been notified that they have had contact with a person with coronavirus or a person who has symptoms of coronavirus, and who is self-isolating for 14 days from the latest date on which that contact occurred, or a date specified in the latest notification.
