UK | COVID-19 | New Measures around Travel and guidance on return to work

As the United Kingdom starts to ease restrictions linked to the coronavirus epidemic, new measures have been introduced relating to travelling to the UK from outside the common travel area. Additionnally, guidance around testing has been published.
International Travel 
  • As lockdown measures ease in Europe, more international travel is anticipated. With this in mind, EnglandWalesScotland and Northern Ireland have all passed regulations to limit risks.
  • Travellers arriving in the United Kingdom will generally have to follow strict self-isolation measures for 14 days following their arrival. They will also be required to provide contact information, details of requirements vary by region.
  • Exceptions exist for certain workers on business, find a full list here.
New Testing Initiative Departing from earlier instructions, any person with symptoms of the virus is now invited to self isolate and get tested for the Covid-19 by contacting the NHS. Workplace specific Guidance here Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) will close to new entrants on 30 June 2020. Employees will have to be forloughed for a full 3 weeks prior to this date to be eligible for the scheme. From 1 July 2020, the forlough scheme will evolve and increase to have some flexible work.
