UK | COVID-19 | Face Coverings Mandatory from June 15, 2020 in English Public Transport

The Department for Transport announced changes on rules related to Covid-19 in Public Transportation in England on 4 June 2020.
From June 15 2020, wearing a mask or a face covering in public transportation will be mandatory in England. Rail and Buses are included in this change as per the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Wearing of Face Coverings on Public Transport Regulations 2020 (SI 2020/592).
  • Find advice on making a face covering here. It should cover both mouth and nose. Precautions should be taken when wearing it to not touch the covering.
As a reminder, face masks and coverings are not mandatory workplaces where they are not used as a normal PPE. They can be worn in workplaces where it is difficult or impossible to keep the social distancing measures in place and stay 2m away.
