On October 1, 2021, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the availability of the Draft FY 2022-2026 EPA Strategic Plan. The Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) Modernization Act of 2010 requires agencies to develop Strategic Plans, which include:- A mission statement, long-term goals, objectives, and strategies to achieve them over a four-year period; and
- Two-year Agency Priority Goals to encourage agency leadership priorities.
Strategic Goals
With these principles as a guide, the Strategic Plan takes on seven strategic goals:- Tackle the climate crisis
- Take decisive action to advance environmental justice and civil rights
- Enforce environmental laws and ensure compliance
- Ensure clean and healthy air for all communities
- Ensure clean and safe water for all communities
- Safeguard and revitalize communities
- Ensure safety of chemicals for people and the environment
Comments Requested
The EPA is seeking comment from interested parties and will accept comments through November 12, 2021. Submit your comments, identified by Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-OA-2021-0403 to the Federal eRulemaking Portal. Follow the online instructions for submitting comments.
