US OSHA Issues Request for Information on Powered Industrial Trucks Regulations

In the March 11, 2019 Federal Register, OSHA issued a request for information and comment on issues related to the powered industrial trucks for general, maritime, and construction industries. OSHA seeking comments on how to regulate older powered industrial trucks, the types of accidents and injuries associated with operation of powered industrial trucks, the cost and benefits of retrofitting powered industrial trucks with safety features, and the costs and benefits of all other aspects of the program. OSHA is also seeking information on whether the differences between the standards for maritime, construction, and general industry are appropriate and effective. Comments must be received by June 10, 2019 and can be made at http://www.regulations.gov.
