A notice has been published on undertakings intending to place hydrofluorocarbons in bulk on the market in the European Union in 2019. The notice relates to undertakings that want to place hydroflurocarbons in bulk on the market in 2019, specifically the placement of over 100 tonnes CO2 equivalent. The placing on the market of such substances are subject to quantitative limits under a quota system as a result of their high global warming potential, with the European Commission having the aim of lowering the amounts placed on the Community market. As a result, the quotas for producers has been lowered, with this quota dependent on the whether producers meet the reference values referred to in the notice. These specific requirements can be found on the notice, each of which will impact the producers level of production that is allowed to be placed on the market.
