On 25 April 2020, the “Third Regulation amending the Regulation on the control of the corona pandemic” of 24 April 2020 was published in the Official Gazette Part I No. 19a of the Saarland. Under this regulation, business owners of certain shops with customer contact are obliged to have their employees wear a mouth and nose cover. However, exceptions are possible here for health or occupational safety reasons.

On 24 April 2020, the “Thuringian Regulation on the Prolongation and Amendment of the Required Measures to Contain the Spread of the Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2” of 18 April 2020 was published in the Law Gazette No. 9 for the Free State of Thuringia. This contains various requirements, especially for certain companies with direct customer contact. These must meet special hygiene requirements.

In a press release of 24 April 2020, the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) provides more concrete information on the concept and implementation of the so-called company hygiene concept. In particular, the DGUV clarifies that the legal requirements are fulfilled if the hygiene measures as described in the SARS-CoV-2 occupational safety standard are observed.

This contains concrete specifications for hygiene rules, instructions for action and spatial requirements.

In its reports from the starting page, the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) refers to supplementary information on protective measures due to the corona pandemic, the Employer’s Liability Insurance Association for Energy, Textiles, Electrical and Electronic Media Products (BG ETEM). In addition to information for individual sectors, the BG ETEM also provides a supplementary checklist for risk assessment.
