The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is proposing amendments to its air emission fee rules to increase the emission fee for permitted sources from $40 per ton of air pollution to $48 per ton. Written comments must be submitted by November 6, 2014.
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources Air Conservation Commission is proposing amendments to its air emission fee rules to increase the emission fee for permitted sources from $40 per ton of air pollution to $48 per ton. The $48 emission fee will become effective January 1, 2016, beginning with calendar year 2015 emissions.
According to the DNR Air Conservation Commission, the proposed fee increase will enable the Air Pollution Control Program to remain solvent and maintain its authority as the implementing agency of the federal Clean Air Act. If and when enacted, the rules will become part of the Missouri State Implementation Plan. A public hearing is taking place on October 30, 2014, and written comments are being accepted until November 6, 2014.Red-on-line EHS Legal Counsel
