In the August 23, 2019 edition of the Federal Register, US EPA announced that it was proposing to designate 20 chemical substances as High-Priority for Risk Evaluation as required by section 6(b) of TSCA. Section 6(b) of TSCA requires EPA to designate 20 chemical substances as High-Priority in order to begin the required risk evaluation process. This notice is one step in that process and initiates a 90 day comment period during which interested parties can comment on the proposal. Comments must be received by November 21, 2019.
