On 12th of December 2017, the Environment Agency has updated the Consultation on proposals to make changes to a number of the charging schemes, setting charges for the period 2018-2023. The changes proposed aim to sustain and improve the regulatory activity, implement a simpler and more transparent charges scheme, and deal with elevated environmental risks. The Agency seeks views and analysis so that it can understand the impacts and benefits, as companies consider them, of the proposals. This consultation is seeking views on the charge proposals which the Environment Agency has developed to take effect in England in April 2018. The new charge proposals cover:- Environmental Permitting Regulations 2016
- Radioactive substances regulation nuclear and non-nuclear permits
- Marine licences
- Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013
- Control of Major Accident Hazard Regulations 2015
- European Union Emissions Trading System
- Definition of Waste Services
- Planning advice
