On April 6, 2017 the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) released a memorandum that delays the enforcement of its respirable crystalline silica standard for the construction industry until September 23, 2017. The original compliance deadline was June 23, 2017 for all requirements, except for the sample analysis requirements, which was to commence June 23, 2018. OSHA is delaying enforcement of the standard as it is currently developing educational materials for employers.
