On September 8th, 2015, the EPA announced that it is extending the deadline for public comment on its new fuel efficiency standards.
In July of this year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) had proposed new greenhouse gas emissions and fuel efficiency standards for medium and heavy-duty engines and vehicles.
The proposed rule would affect:
- combination tractors
- trailers pulled by combination tractors
- heavy-duty pickup trucks and vans
- vocational vehicles (including vehicles such as delivery trucks and waste haulers).
