[IE] Ireland’s zero waste approach to water
- #Water
In a press release published on the House of the Oireachtas website of 7 April it announced that the focus of the next Environment Committee meeting would be “a zero waste approach to water”.
The reason behind the Committee’s focus on a zero waste approach is that the demand for water is ever increasing both for domestic and commercial uses and in order to meet this demand the supply has had to increase. The Committee hope that their discussions will lead to:
“Developing and promoting sustainable technologies for water production and wastewater treatment will help us move towards a zero waste approach to water, while also addressing a source of environmental pollution.”The Environment Committee meeting on Ireland’s approach to zero waste took place on 8 April.
