US EPA Releases Preliminary List of Chemicals Reported under TSCA Inventory Notification Rule

Chemical substances risk list
On November 22, 2017 the US EPA announced that it was releasing the preliminary list of chemical substances that reflect the Notices of Activity (NOAs) reported to EPA through November 10, 2017 under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Inventory Notification (Active-Inactive) rule. In accordance with the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act, EPA was required to designate certain substances as either active or inactive in US commerce. The total number of chemicals on the list is 10,730 and adds to the 13,209 substances that already appear on EPA’s list of substances exempt from Form A reporting. Substances on the list are not exempt from retrospective reporting by other manufacturers under the rule unless a manufacturer has obtained a CDX receipt documenting EPA’s receipt of an NOA Form A from another person for the chemical substance.
