Oregon Department of Environmental Quality Adopts Modifications to Hazardous Waste Regulations

On July 12, 2017 the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality adopted multiple modifications to its hazardous waste regulations. The purpose of these adoptions are to ensure consistency with the federal hazardous waste regulations. The adoption amends Chapter OAR 340, Divisions 100, 101, and 102 and incorporate federal hazardous waste rules. These rules includes the following: simplification of waste management at academic laboratories; conditional exclusions for solvent-contaminated wipes; and withdrawal of the comparable fuels rule. The changes were certified to be effective on July 12, 2017.
