GHG emissions: amendments concerning fuels and materials subject to a minimum frequency of analyses [EU]

Regulation (EU) No 743/2014 of 9 July 2014 amends Annex VII (determining the minimum frequency of analyses for relevant fuels and materials that must be applied by operators for the determination of calculation factors) to Regulation (EU) No 601/2012 of 21 June 2012 on the monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

The new Directive does not aim to amend the minimum frequency of analyses for fuels and materials. Its objective is to clarify the classification and categorisation of fuels and materials listed in Annex VII to Regulation (EU) No 601/2012 in order to improve consistency regarding application of appropriate factors used in the calculation of GHG emissions.

Regulation (EU) No 743/2014 shall apply from 30 July 2014. As a reminder, Decision 2014/389/EU of 23 June 2014 set the additional historical aviation emissions and additional aviation allowances to take into consideration the accession of Croatia to the European Union (EU).
