EPA Releases Report Mandated by Executive Order Regarding the Development of Domestic Energy Resources

A notice was published in the November 3, 2017 Federal Register regarding the availability of the EPA’s October 25, 2017 report entitled “Final Report on Review of Agency Actions That Potentially Burden the Safe, Efficient Development of Domestic Energy Resources Under Executive Order 13783.” The report was drafted by the EPA to comply with President Trump’s March 28, 2017 Executive Order entitled “Promoting Energy Independence and Economic Growth,” which required federal agencies conduct a review of all existing regulations, policies, orders, guidance documents, and other agency actions that potentially burden the development or use of domestically produced energy resources. The Order required agencies to then publish reports on their findings, and to include recommendations detailing ways that unnecessary regulatory burdens may be reduced within those reports.
