Consultation Responses to Batteries and Packing Waste [UK]

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has published the consultation outcome for Batteries and Packaging Waste: Reducing the Burden for Producers on its website.

Features of the consultation

The consultation sought to reduce the administrative burden on producers by amending the following legislation:
  • Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009
  • Producer Responsibility Obligation (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2007
  • Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007

Audience’s responses

The consultation received a total of 53 responses from producer compliance schemes, producers, advisory organisations, trade associations and regional as well as local government.
