European Commission Publishes Communication on Implementation of Regulation Involving Variety of ISO Standards

The European Commission has published a communication in the framework of the implementation of Regulation (EC) No 765/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council, Decision No 768/2008/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and Regulation (EC) No 1221/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council, specifically the publication of titles and references of harmonised standards involving ISO Standards. The International Organization for Standardization develops and implements international standards, which set out requirements for a vast variety of business operations, products and management systems. The use of standards aims to improve on efficiency and improve upon sustainability of such products and process. The communication is in table format and includes the following:

ESO (European Standard Organisation)
Reference and title of the standard (and reference document)
First publication OJ (in Official Journal)
Reference of superseded standard
Date of cessation of presumption of conformity of superseded standard

The publication of titles relates to a number of different ISO Standards, including the following:

ISO 9001(Quality management systems)
ISO 14001 (Environmental management systems)
ISO 14064 (Monitoring, reporting and verification of Greenhouse gases)
ISO 15189 (Medical laboratories – requirements for quality and competence)
ISO 19011 (Guidelines for auditing management systems)
