Open Consultation on Ofwat Charging Guidance [UK]

The Water Act 2014 created a new framework for the regulation of charging in the water industry.

What is the result of the Water Act?

The result is that Ofwat will be able to issue new and binding charging rules for the water industry. The Act also requires new charging guidance to be created so that the new Ofwat charging rules will accurately reflect the goals of the Government’s policies for the water industry.

The consultation is seeking views on the proposals in the new guidance, in which are set out the Government’s objectives for charging in the water industry and how the Government’s policy objectives will be achieved.
