Energy Efficiency Tax Relief Extended [IE]

The SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) is now widely publicising the ACA (Accelerated Capital Allowance) Scheme : the scheme allows for tax relief on capital expenditure which can be used to invest in sustainable energy efficient products.

Energy efficient equipment qualifying for the scheme

It is said that the advantages are that new energy efficient equipment will consume less energy, thereby reducing energy bills, and that where this equipment is registered with the SEAI it will qualify for the ACA scheme where the full cost of the eligible equipment can be deducted from taxable profits in the year of purchase rather than over a period of time.
