Arkansas: U.S. EPA Authorizes Changes to Arkansas State Hazardous Waste Management Program

On 11 August, 2016 the U.S. EPA in accordance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) authorized changes to Arkansas’s Hazardous Waste Management Program submitted by Arkansas on 30 November, 2015. The provisions for which the State is seeking authorization are documented in the Rule Revision Checklists 211, 213, 214, and 228 through 232, which arte portions of RCRA Clusters XVI and XVII, and RCRA Clusters XXII and XXIII. arkansas’s-hazardous-waste-management-program-2 These checklists specifically cover waste water treatment exemptions for Hazardous Waste Mixtures (Checklist 211), burden reduction initiative (Checklist 213), Correction to Errors in the Code of Federal Regulations (Checklist 214), Waste Technical Corrections and Clarification Rule (Checklist 228), and Conditional Exclusions for Solvent Contaminated Wipes (Checklist 229). This final authorization is effective on 11 October, 2016 unless the EPA receives adverse written comment by 12 September, 2016. Comments can be submitted at http://www.regulations.gov referencing Docket ID Number EPA-R06-RCRA-2017-0176 or emailed to Patterson.alima@epa.gov.
