Controlling Solder Flux Health Risks [UK]

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has published a treatise on its website entitled ‘Controlling Health Risks from Rosin (Colophony)-Based Solder Flux Fume’ (rev1) (INDG249).

The document, published on  on 22nd September 2015, is directed at employers managing the safety risks of employees exposed to solder flux fumes but remains informative to any persons using or involved with assessing risks from the fumes.

Aim of the publication

The publication provides guidance on how to comply with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 and also details various types of LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation).

The publication has also been updated with new images and increased clarity in presentation to facilitate better understanding, particularly for those who purchase LEV equipment.
