CLP Regulation: changes to the lists of hazardous substances [EU]

A new regulation of 24th July, 2015  has added new substances and mixtures to the list of harmonised classification and labelling of hazardous substances,  as well as modifying current entries.

Regulation (EU) 2015/1221 amends the tables in Part 3 of Annex VI to the CLP Regulation (Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 of 16th December 2008 on the classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures) and comes into effect from 1st January 2017. The new regulation will allow suppliers sufficient time to change their labelling and packaging, to sell existing stocks and to comply with the registration obligations for newly-classified substances.

The new Regulation also states that the harmonised classifications set out in the Annex may be applied before 1st January 2017.
