[INTL] UNECE Espoo Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment is now open to all Member States of the UN

In a press release issued on 27 August 2014, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) announced that, through the entry into force on 26 August 2014 of its first amendment, the Espoo Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context is now open to all Member States of the United Nations (UN). Twenty four States have already ratified, approved or accepted the amendment, including the European Union. Non-UNECE countries will be able to accede to the Espoo Convention following ratification of the amendment by all States that were Parties when the amendment was adopted in 2001.
