Guidance on Involving your employees in Health and Safety [UK]

The Health and Safety Executive have published the article Involving your workforce in health and safety: Guidance for all workplaces on their webpage.

The guidance is predominantly for medium to large employers and will aid them in completing their legal duty to consult employees on health and safety. The guidance may be of assistance to small employers, health and safety representatives and employees.

The guidance provided by the document HSG263 concentrates mainly on the compliance with:

• Safety Representatives and Safety Committees Regulations 1977 (as amended), and • Health and Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996 (as amended)

This updated version of the guidance provides clearer examples on how to comply with the above regulations and it has also updated any references to other materials.
