With the new restrictions coming into force this week, the HSE has provided more definite guidance on when to report Covid-19 occurrences in the workplace<\/a>.
There are only 3 scenarios in which the ‘responsible person’ must report under RIDDOR<\/h6>
  1. As a Dangerous Occurrence<\/a>, if an incident or accident at work has or may have released covid-19 virus<\/li>
  2. As a Case of Disease<\/a>, if a worker has been diagnosed with Covid from occupational exposure.<\/li>
  3. As a work-related death due to exposure to a biological agent<\/a>, if a worker dies as a result of an occupational exposure<\/li> <\/ol> At this time there is no need to report members of the public or non-work-related cases.
