This amendment came into effect on 20 December 2019 and will until 1 January 2021.\n\nThe\u00a0Waste Management (Prohibition of Waste Disposal by Burning) Regulations 2009 (S.I. 286 of 2009) regulates that generally the owner of waste should not burn the waste in any premises with any equipment, whether the burning is connected with chimneys or not, unless the owner of waste apply for a certificate of registration and the\u00a0waste burning fits into the below criteria:\n\na. the burning of waste consists sorely of uncontaminated waste generated by agricultural practices and no dangerous substance is mixed\u00a0in the waste;\n\nb. no accelerator is used and the disposal does not pollute the environment or affect human health.\n\nc. the waste is sent for disposal at a facility in accordance with the conditions of a waste licence or an IPPC licence which has been granted by the Agency.\n\nd. uncontaminated waste burned for the use of barbecues or cooking food.\n\nIn this amendment, the burning of waste in compliance with a. and b. shall cease on 1 January 2021.\n\nSource:\n\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.irishstatutebook.ie\/eli\/2009\/si\/286\/made\/en\/print?q=Prohibition+of+Waste+Disposal+by+Burning\">S.I.
