{"id":22484,"date":"2026-03-30T16:10:57","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T14:10:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.red-on-line.com\/?p=22484"},"modified":"2026-03-30T16:18:59","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T14:18:59","slug":"ehs-legal-alerts-uk-consultation-on-proposed-persistent-organic-pollution-amendment-regulations-2026-closing-13th-may-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.red-on-line.com\/gb\/blog\/ehs-legal-alerts-uk-consultation-on-proposed-persistent-organic-pollution-amendment-regulations-2026-closing-13th-may-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"GB &#8211; Consultation on proposed Persistent Organic Pollution (Amendment) Regulations 2026, closing 13th May 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On 18<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;March, the Government announced that it would be seeking views from the public on several proposed amendments to the POPs Regulations in upcoming and future legislation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of these proposals relate to recent additions of five new POPs under the Stockholm Convention on POPs, to which the UK is a Party. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>These new substances are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs)<\/li><li>Long-chain perfluorocarboxylic acids (LC-PFCAs)<\/li><li>UV-328<\/li><li>Dechlorane Plus (DP)<\/li><li>Chlorpyrifos<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This consultation refers to legislative proposals in the Draft Statutory Instrument, the Persistent Organic Pollutants (Amendment) Regulations 2026.
