The DEP proposed modifying the Safe Drinking Water Act, Groundwater, Private Well Test Act Regulations, and NJ Pollutant Discharge Elimination System rules

Water Act
In the April 1, 2019 New Jersey Register, the DEP proposed modifying the Safe Drinking Water Act, Groundwater, Private Well Test Act Regulations, and NJ Pollutant Discharge Elimination System rules found in NJAC 7:10, 7:9C, 7:9E, and 7:1E. The proposed rules will lower the maximum contaminant levels (MCLs) for PFAs and PFOs in water, establish a specific groundwater standard for PFAs and PFOs, and add PFOs and PFAs to the List of Hazardous Substances in NJAC 7:1E. Written comments must be submitted by May 31, 2019 and a public hearing will be held on May 15, 2019.
