Creation of The Water Quality and Supply (Fees) (Undertakers Wholly or Mainly in Wales) Order 2016

The Water Quality and Supply (Fees) (Undertakers Wholly or Mainly in Wales) Order 2016 has been created, resulting from powers granted to Welsh Ministers under the Water Industry Act 1991. It was made 9th August 2016, laid before the National Assembly for Wales 17th August 2016 and will come into force 8th September 2016. wales-water-quality-and-supply-fees   The Order relates to payable fees and determines the amount of those fees. These fees are necessary in order to:
  1. Check water sampling and analysis arrangements
  2. Check water supply management arrangements
  3. Investigate events, incidents, emergencies and other matters that arise concerning quality of sufficiency of water
  4. Checking the handling and reporting of consumer complaints about water quality and sufficiency
This Order allows the Inspectorate to recover costs from water companies based wholly or mainly in Wales, necessary to recover costs for actions stated above. A corresponding Order relating to England has already been put into force.
